BOSTON __________

Known throughout history as the intellectual, educational, and medical center of the nation, Boston will always have a special place in my heart.

I moved to Boston when I was only 19 years old. I had the opportunity to attend Emerson College, and without a doubt, it became one of my favorite cities in the US.

From Back Bay to Beacon Hill, and The North End, every neighborhood has something special to offer.

The way to do Boston right is to truly immerse yourself in the experience of each area. You can walk everywhere, so no car is really needed. The “T” as it is known, is a great way to go from place to place, especially if you want to crossover to Cambridge and Harvard area.

To my surprise, 19 years later and the squeaking of the T has not been repaired. It is embedded in the DNA of the city. To any fellow Bostonian, If you know, you know.

Now, let us get into the specifics of where to go and what to eat. One of my favorite spots for brunch is without a doubt The Paramount. Located at 44 Charles St. ( And now offering a second location in South Boston), this quaint little unassuming restaurant is always packed, so don’t be surprised if you have to stand in line for a little while. But it’s worth the wait. Their breakfast sandwiches and fluffy pancakes are a delight.

A walk through Beacon Hill is a must. Little shops and cafés will make for the perfect after-brunch stroll. The Boston Common and the Public Gardens offer locals and tourists a magical spot to unwind, walk the dogs, or simply sit down and enjoy a book.

In terms of shopping, nothing is better than Newbury Street. High-end and local shops alike entice even the most avid shopper. I have probably walked this street hundreds of times, and there is always something new to explore.

Piattini continues to be one of my favorite spots for dinner. An unassuming little Italian restaurant in the heart of Newbury Street, that prides itself on its ambiance and delicious food. However, The North End is unbeatable if you are looking for an immersive Italian experience.

Trattoria Il Panino, located at 280 Hanover St, offers ample traditional meals in an intimate setting, perfect for a date, even if it is with yourself. Everyone is welcoming, and the food is truly some of the best Italian food I’ve had in The US.

I could write a whole book on this city, and I’ve just scratched the surface. A night at Symphony Hall, a visit to The Isabella Gardner Museum, and a game at Fenway Park, feel like obligatory activities while in Boston. But my highest recommendation would be to experience a show at The American Repertory Theatre (A.R.T) at Harvard University. They are known for producing groundbreaking work.

I remember being heavily impacted by productions I saw at The A.R.T as a young Theatre student, and they continue to push the boundaries of what’s expected.
